Family Session FAQ's
How Soon Will I Receive My Gallery?
For family sessions galleries are usually delivered within 7 days; often quicker depending on time of year and other commitments
What Should We Wear?
My suggestion would be to compliment each other, that doesn't mean fully matching (unless you want to) but similar or complimenting colours works well. I would avoid heavily branded clothing and keep it simpler so the images remain more timeless however this is your session and whatever best represents your family is fine for me.
What Outdoor Locations Do You Suggest?
There are so many beautiful places and options, some of my favourite spots are Padley Gorge, Linacre Reservoir, Clumber Park and Sherwood Pines but a place near your home or even your own back garden are also great options.
If you have a particular spot that you love as a family and has meaning to you I'm always open to suggestions and love discovering new places.
The best places have a variety of open and shadier spots and plenty of room to move around, especially with little ones.
What Happens If The Weather is bad On The Day?
Living in England we all know how varied weather can be, it doesn't have to be a perfect summers day to get great photographs, sometimes the after rain, autumn or winter vibes are also incredible but if the weather is bad we can always move your session to a later date. If the forecast isn't looking good we will be in touch the day before to check in to see if you still wish to go ahead.
How does Payment Work?
To secure your session we require a £10.00 deposit with the remainder payable once the full gallery has been delivered.
Do You Offer Payment Plans?
We certainly can offer payment plan options, these can be discussed on an individual basis to find a plan that works for both parties.
Do you offer bespoke packages?
Absolutely, if one of the set packages above isn't quite what you're looking for we can work together to tailor a package that fits what you're looking for including adding more time, additional image downloads and/or printed photo's / wall art.
We don't like posing for pictures, can you help us?
My style and approach to a family session is to work with you to help capture moments in a way that you're comfortable with, I will provide gentle guidance and prompts and my focus is always for images to be as natural and authentically you as possible.
For families with younger children especially, we won't focus on lots of formal portraits (we'll absolutely get some!), we'll have fun, play games, I'll bring out the bubbles and we'll capture lots of images of you just being together and interacting.
Do you travel?
Yes, I'm based in Derbyshire and cover all over the East Midlands and South Yorkshire as well as further afield. Please note for family sessions travel is included within 25 miles of Alfreton (DE55), we are happy to travel beyond this however additional travel charges may apply.
