ABOUT ME

Photography has been part of my life for as long as I can remember; my Grandad was a photographer and I still remember posing for him as he captured portraits, some of which he entered into competitions and won on a couple of occasions. He had a dark room at home and I remember him letting me help and being fascinated by the process.
Fast forward a few years and I got my first 35mm camera that I took with me wherever I could, capturing life, travels and anything else that caught my eye.
As I got a bit older and life got busy, photography took a back seat occasionally featuring on holidays, special occasions and nights out but even then I loved having a camera in my hand capturing moments around me.
After getting married in 2012 and welcoming twin girls in 2014, my passion for photography was reignited, along with a new interest in creating video. Wanting to capture as many moments as possible as my daughters got older, I bought my first Nikon DSLR when they were very young, and everything naturally developed from there.
After covid I decided to take a leap and lean into following my creative passions, I enrolled at Sheffield Hallam University as a mature student studying Digital Media Production which covered photography, videography, graphic design and more and graduated in 2024.
During my studies and since graduating I have done a wide variety of work incorporating both photo and video but something I truly love doing is capturing moments for other families, both the big moments and the little everyday ones. Being a small part of someones story and giving them something to look back on for years to come is such a privilege and something I'm very proud of.

MY STYLE
My aim with any session is for people to feel as relaxed and comfortable as possible so that they can be themselves. Whilst I will provide gentle guidance and prompts, my shooting style is very natural and unobtrusive, capturing the candid moments and the real interactions between people in an authentic way. Less "stand there and say cheese" and more walk around, hold hands, tell each other a joke, have a tickle fight, have a family hug (and anything else in between)
With any couple, family or group I try to make it fun, especially with little ones; being a bit silly, blowing bubbles, giving funny prompts and getting people laughing when appropriate; natural smiles are the absolute best! Ultimately I want you to look at your gallery and see you and your people as they really are.
If that sounds like someone you'd like to work with I'd love to hear from you.
